An unexpected journey.

You know someone said that the world’s a stage and we must play a part.

I want to share a journey with you—not just any journey, but one that has been unexpected and incredibly transformative. It’s often said that the world is a stage, and each of us has a part to play. My own script took an unexpected turn early on when my academic path was cut short. But every challenge was an opportunity in disguise and all of this thanks to great mentorships along my journey.

Act One opened with humble beginnings. Tagged as the underdog by my family, I started my career in a factory, far from the world of academic accolades and college degrees. Back in 1992, my first role was as an assistant to the administrative assistant—far from glamorous, but it was a start.

Act Two was where I found my calling in the denim industry. Climbing up to the role of Manager to CEO, I committed to sustainable practices, rethinking how our everyday products are made. It wasn’t just about making jeans but making a difference—turning 1.3 million plastic bottles into innovative denim fabric, crafting jeans with zero chemicals, and saving some 75,000 m3 of water.

Hard times prevailed, and despite my best efforts, my factory closed down in 2017, then came Act Three.

Act Three led me back to school at the age of 49, returning to the blackboard in Australia after I left school at 15. With an MBA and specialized training in Sustainability Reporting, Circular Economy, and ESG, I finally bridged the gap between business and academia. I am a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, an Ellen MacArthur, the University of Cambridge, and the Columbia Business School alumni. Now, I voluntarily share this knowledge as a lecturer and speaker at Western Australian Universities, hoping to ignite curiosity and inspire a new generation of leaders through real-world experiences and engaging stories. As the founder of Skyfall Consulting Ltd, I guide organizations in crafting sustainability reports based on GRI standards, helping them not only meet compliance but also embody the principles of sustainability in their operations.

But my commitment extends beyond environmental efforts; at 53, I embraced the role of an education counsellor, advocating for transformative education that breaks down barriers. As Director of Studywest Educational Services (Mauritius), I help African students access premier educational opportunities, offering the guidance I once missed.

I am here for you, whether you’re facing educational constraints due to geographical and socio-economic challenges or striving to embed sustainability in your work. My mission is to support not only students but also fellow entrepreneurs and professionals eager to make a sustainable impact.

Act Four The best is yet to come. Together, we can achieve more, breaking down preconceived barriers and building a future where we all thrive.

Together, we stand; divided, we fall.
